Our fundraising endeavors started in 2020 with a group of administrators and members from the What’s Happening in Naugatuck Facebook page. We had an idea to start fundraising to benefit a local monthly community meal program called NEON (Naugatuck Ecumenical Outreach Network) held at St. Michael’s Church in Naugatuck. The Neon program is vital to our community and with that we sold Christmas wreaths and donated the proceeds to that program. We didn’t stop there. We went on to selling Mother’s Day flowers to benefit NEON and then our largest fundraiser was next, Naugatuck Food Truck Festival on the Green. That event brought people from all around and ended up being much larger than any of the committee members ever imagined, being able to donate to the NEON program and the Naugatuck YMCA. During the planning process of that event the idea to start our own Non-Profit was discussed. The committee members from Naugatuck Food Truck Festival came to the agreement to create the Naugatuck Outreach Partnership and to be the board members so that we could continue to hold fundraisers and choose organizations that we will donate to. All our board and committee members have one goal in mind which is helping and strengthening our community.
